MEDIA STORIES
"Freedom of the press isn't just important to democracy, it is democracy" - Walter Cronkite
The media, news professionals and journalists are a vital thread woven into our Nation's history.
My appreciation for the media first started in my youth. In elementary school I went to school's principal with the idea of publishing a student lead newspaper - he gave my friends and I the greenlight. We ran breaking news that focused on the lunch menu, sports and funny jokes - journalism at it's finest for an 11 year old.
My passion for serving as part of the media also followed me to college where I wrote for the college newspaper for Northern Montana College - Montana State University.
Today I have such a profound appreciation for the media and the stories they run. They truly provide a profound opportunity to connect with others, empower through knowledge sharing and inspire people to make a positive impact in the world.
